Meet the Team
Eddie Russell BSc(Hons)M.C.Optom. Studied in Glasgow and qualified in 1996. He spent ten years with Dollond and Aitchison where he worked closely with the graduate programme and successfully supervised six graduate optometrists. He has a keen interest in staff development and education in optometry and is also a member of the British Contact Lens Association.
Scott Brown BSc (Hons) M.C.Optom. Qualified from Glasgow in 1995. He is in practice regularly and has been an integral member of the team.
Ian Murray FBDO. A qualified dispensing optician and contact lens practitioner. Since joining the practice in 1995 he has become probably the most “well-kent face” on the shop floor. He previously managed the Dundee branch of Dollond and Aitchison and specialises in the provision of contact lenses. Outside the practice Ian is most likely to be found on the golf course.
Roderick Foster FBDO. Joined Norman Salmoni as a newly qualified dispensing optician in 1988 and since the retirement of Bill Suttie has taken over the mantle of chief glazer. He has proved to be a more than adequate replacement which allows many spectacles to be produced in-house.
Stacey Holden FBDO. Qualified as Despensing Optician in 2004. Her background was with Dollond and Aitchison where she most recently managed their St Andrews branch. Stacey is a people person and strives to provide excellence in customer service.
Alan Pattinson FBDO (Hons)CL. Our visiting Contact Lens specialist and is available by appointment. Alan has been visiting the practice for well over 20 years and has become a familiar face.
Sheila Macpherson is the practice receptionist on a Monday and Friday. Through out the winter Sheila dedicates her spare time to selling christmas cards for the Guide Dogs charity.
Anne Mackenzie has been here since 1992, making her the receptionist who has been here the longest and we would be lost without her!
Karen Ward joined us in 2009 from the Clydesdale Bank.Iona MacKay BSc Physiology. Graduated from Aberdeen University just this year, having previously worked during the summer in another optometrists she has joined our to team to contiue here training as an Optical Assistant.
Heather Buchanan BSc (Hons) Medical Biology. Graduated from Edinburgh University in 2010, since then she has worked in Boots Opticians before becoming our newest memeber of staff. When shes not working with us she is currently studying to become a Dispensing Optician.
